  The Trial Chamber II of the International Criminal Court (ICC) unanimously acquitted Mr Katanga as an accessory to rape and sexual slavery as war crimes and crimes against humanity. “Mr Katanga’s acquittal on charges of rape and sexual slavery is a devastating result for the victims/survivors of the Bogoro attack, as well as other victims of these crimes committed by the FRPI within the ethnically-driven conflict in Ituri.”

  Un homme a été reconnu coupable d’avoir profité de deux cartes d’adhérent à la bibliothèque de l’Alcazar pour se connecter à 143 reprises sur des sites djihadistes, pour y lire des textes et regarder des vidéos faisant l’apologie du terrorisme. Le 8 août, un homme qui consultait régulièrement des sites djihadistes et des vidéos de décapitation avait été condamné à la même peine maximale.

  War crimes judges on Tuesday sentenced a former Islamist rebel who admitted wrecking holy shrines during Mali’s 2012 conflict to nine years in prison, in the first such case to focus on destruction of cultural heritage. When the ICC’s prosecutor opened its Mali investigation in 2012, “there were different classes of crimes, including murder, torture, execution, pillaging, rape” . “I think Malians find it ironic that the only crime that’s been prosecuted is for this attack against protected objects category.”
