Letter of Congratulations!

Congratulations on behalf of the peasant community of Bangladesh for the great victory and success in the peasants’ movement of India!

In a statement, the leaders of the steering committee of the Bangladesh Pragatisheel Krishak Sangram Parishad(Progressive Peasants Action Council) congratulated the agitating Indian peasant community on behalf of the peasantry of Bangladesh on the victory and success of the year-long struggle of the farmers’ organizations in India.

The leaders said the withdrawal of three Farm Bills (black laws) against the interests of Indian farmers by the government has once again increased the significance and importance of the peasants’ movement in the subcontinent and proved that struggle is a powerful tool for realizing demands. This movement reminded us of the uncompromising and long independence movement of the then peasants against British colonialism in India.

Calling upon the people to reap the fruits of this long and untiring struggle of one year, the leaders conveyed their deepest respect and sympathy and condolences to all the leaders and activists who have sacrificed their lives in this movement. They also called upon the Government of India to provide adequate compensation to the families of the injured dead.
