  Le massacre du 17 octobre 1961, un crime d’État. Les faits sont connus : une manifestation d’AlgĂ©riens, qui protestaient pacifiquement dans Paris contre le couvre-feu raciste qui leur avait Ă©tĂ© imposĂ© par les autoritĂ©s, a Ă©tĂ© rĂ©primĂ©e par la police dans une brutalitĂ© inouĂŻe, faisant des dizaines de morts — certaines victimes de la rĂ©pression ont Ă©tĂ© jetĂ©es Ă  la Seine.

  23 political detainees began their hunger strike on April 7 in the El Harrach jail in capital Algiers. They have been slapped with charges such as “causing damage to national unity” and “holding an unarmed gathering or protest.” The upcoming legislative elections on June 21 have been rejected by the protesters. Slogans like “Makkach intikhabate (no elections with the mafia), “Clear all” and “your sham elections will not pass” were heard during the protests.
