  While being moved by the generous intentions which motivated these symbolic actions, we nevertheless take distance from some of these which, in fact, will further increase the alas already prevaling confusion between personal religious faith and communal identity politics. While indeed solidarity is very much needed, we call on well-meaning people to select other symbols when showing solidarity with the Christchurch massacre’s victims. Symbols which would not lead to ideological compromising with the Muslim far-right, under the pretext of fighting the anti-Muslims xenophobic far-right. It would be a major disaster if the racist homicides perpetrated in Christchurch against Muslim believers would, in the end, benefit the Muslim extreme-right. Let’s make sure it does not happen.

  Don’t people remember the political language of the Hindutva driven ‘Swadeshi Jagaran Manch’ (SJM) which used to challenge globalization, foreign direct investment? It was difficult in the 1990s to distinguish between the discourse of the Azaadi Bachao Andolan run by the unorganized left, the reactionary SJM and also that of sections of the organised left. That was some time ago. Today, the right wing BJP-led government in India has very successfully pushed its hyper patriotic and ‘spot the antinational’ politics. The left & progressive forces have their swan song ‘nationalism’ saying the nationalism of the right is rotten but ours is good

En témoignent les résultats électoraux récents de ces courants en Europe, y compris dans des pays comme l’Allemagne (avec l’Afd) et l’Espagne (derrière Vox) où ils semblaient de longue date voués à demeurer marginaux, et la multiplication des groupes d’activistes ou de paramilitaires, dans le sillage des néonazis d’Aube dorée en Grèce ou du Jobbik en Hongrie. En France, le mouvement de la Manif pour tous en 2013, et certaines actions dans le mouvement des gilets jaunes, leur ont servi de terrain d’entraînement et d’espace de recrutement.

  The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has never made any secret of its love for Adolf Hitler. Both its first sarsangchalak M.S. Golwalkar and one of the organisation’s (and in general, that of Hindutva followers’) heroes, V.D. Savarkar, were admirers of Hitler, mainly for his “cultural nationalism” and his persecution of the Jews — the latter even warning that one day Muslims of the “League type” would “play the part of German Jews”.

  On peut dire de certains livres qu’ils sont des drapeaux. Celui-ci réengage un combat universel : sur toute la planète, au même titre que la lutte des classes, la lutte contre l’obscurantisme et le fascisme religieux est à l’ordre du jour. Quand j’ai lu ces textes, j’ai pensé au sordide bruit de fond qu’on entend dans un certain milieu qui consiste à nier, parfois avec violence, l’existence et le sort de ceux qui meurent dans les pays sous dictature religieuse pour avoir défendu la Liberté et la Raison. Qu’est ce que ça veut dire de vouloir abolir les frontières géographiques sans combattre ce relativisme culturel qui nie à toute force l’existence et le droit à l’existence de nos compagnons du monde entier ? Qu’est-ce qui a empêché en février 1939 les réfugiés espagnols de base d’être massacrés par les franquistes lancés à leur poursuite, si ce n’est l’existence de la frontière française ? Qui aurait eu intérêt, en 1939, à brûler le poste frontière du Perthus en criant « No border » ?

  Le choc. L’assassinat odieux du Français Hervé Gourdel a violemment secoué toute la planète et tragiquement replongé l’Algérie dans l’ambiance d’horreur des années noires du terrorisme. Un examen critique de la politique de réconciliation est impérieusement nécessaire.

  Comme le dit l’un des lecteurs d’El Watan, qui par ailleurs qualifie l’EI de fasciste : « soyons unis contre ce rouleau compresseur qui risque fort de nous anéantir tous . »

  Facebook va retirer toutes les pages, groupes et comptes qui les représentent d’une manière ou d’une autre (y compris les pages non officielles relayant les mêmes contenus). L’ONG américaine spécialisée « Media Matters for America » a salué dans un communiqué « un pas dans la bonne direction » de la part du réseau social.
