The caste system remains the reality of our society. It is a system of graded inequality, with Dalits at the bottom. Those at the top get respect and those at the bottom get contempt and discrimination, often taking the form of violent oppression. This system gives the so called “upper” castes a superiority complex and obliterates the self confidence of Dalits, pushing people into a deep inferiority complex. In truth both are dehumanised and become the slaves of the caste system. In this way, along with social and economic exploitation, caste is responsible for psychological violence too.

What are the psychological effects of caste? Understanding how they affect us is important in the battle to annihilate caste. We have organised this talk with this aim in mind.

Do join us with friends and family.

Talk will be on Zoom.

Talk will be in Marathi.
