As a historian I would say that what my generation of historians has been trying to combat, and which has been revived in the last few years, is two things: one is the insistence on converting Indian history into largely the history of the majority community; and two, a constant dismissal of incorporating into the study of history new information from various sources and new methods of inquiry and analysis.

USSR: Nomads and Soviet Rule: Central Asia under Lenin and Stalin. An Interview with Author
7 January 2022, by siawi3How Soviet policy was informed by both an anti-colonial spirit and an imperialist impulse, by nationalism as well as communism, and above all by a lethal self-confidence in the Communist Party’s ability to transform the lives of nomads and harness the agricultural potential of their landscape.

Histoire algérienne de la France : Une centralité refoulée, de 1962 à nos jours
15 octobre 2022, par siawi3Pour comprendre la France contemporaine, il est nécessaire de se confronter, enfin, à la question algérienne. Pakistan: Dont tear down statues
28 June 2020, by siawi3Left-liberals in the West should ponder the effects of effacing historical symbols as Pakistan-India have. Every civilisation is the legacy of wars, conquests, and brutality. Even the cleverest surgery cannot cut out these bitter legacies without killing the patient.

Kim Philby remembered: A traitor to his class
7 January 2022, by siawi3In the usually dark world of secret agents, Philby was one of the bright examples who betrayed his own class and served the people of the Soviet Union and the world’s proletariat. Just for “betraying” the interests of British imperialism, Philby should be regarded as a hero for the working class people.
