  The problem rests with creating divisions, segregations, differentiation and opposition that the overtly public face of religion tends to provoke. In situations where a person’s first and foremost identity is blatantly religion-based, does it not relegate his/her hard-earned credentials — say, as a physician, a software engineer or a journalist — to a secondary, if not to a more degradable level?

  Le « problème » n’a jamais été ce que Wkileaks et Julian Assange auraient le droit ou non de publier, mais ce que nous aurions le droit ou non de savoir. Wikileaks et Julian Assange ne sont pas le problème, ils sont l’outil avec lequel le vrai problème fut révélé. Ils ne sont pas la fièvre, ils sont le thermomètre. Le débat n’est plus entre « pro » et « anti » Wikileaks, mais entre moi, individu et citoyen, et quelqu’un qui a l’incroyable prétention, culot et outrecuidance de décider de ce que j’ai le droit ou non de savoir des agissements au sein des pouvoirs qui sont censés me représenter et/ou être à mon service. Et ça, ça change pas mal de choses.
