Until the end of his life, Alain did not give up and did not give in to the pressure of « You’ll get over it with age ». An activist excluded from the PCF, founder and leader of the JCR, the LCR and then the NPA, leader of the Fourth International, Alain has never denied his youthful commitments.

14 March, by siawi3Alain Krivine remained an anti-capitalist, a revolutionary socialist all of his life, and contrary to that common adage and the title of his memoir, ironically titled, ’That Will Go Away as You Get Older’, he did not give up his leftist politics as he aged. Alain Krivine, a French revolutionary socialist, died today March 12 at the age of eighty. A leader in the student and anti-imperialist movements of the 1960s, an important figure in the May 1968 upheaval in France, he was for many years one of the best-known figures of the French left. He was a leader of the Revolutionary Communist League (LCR) and after that of the New Anticapitalist Party (NPA).
